A GaaSaku Story Chapter 2

"Hello, Kazekage-sama." i said in greetingas he stepped up beside me.

"Gaara is fine Sakura-san." he told me.

"Yes, Gaara-sama." i whispered.

Gaara began walking and i followed suit.  When we reached the edge of the forest we lept up into the trees and began to jump from limb to limb.

It had been almost 6 1/2 hours since we had stopped for lunch and i was getting hungry.  I wasn't going to say anything for another half hour though because it hadn't started getting dark yet but my stomach growled and gave me away.

Gaara glanced back at me, "Do we need to stop, Sakura-san?"

"No, Gaara-sama, i should be fine until we stop for the night." i said, then stiffled a yawn.  I sware i saw the corners of his mouth twitch at that.

He stoped and sighed, and i stopped beside him, "Sakura-san, why do you think i said more than one escourt would slow me down?"

"I don't know." was my only reply.

"Oh, Sakura-san i thought you would have figured it out by now." i sared at him blankly, he was acting strange, "I may have lost Shukaku but i still don't sleep much, only about two hours every night.  So if your getting tired or hungry you need to tell me." this was the longest speach i'd heard him give in a while, so for a momment i thought it over.

After a few minutes of thought i nodded and we lept down from the trees.

I yawned as i put out our cooking fire, bousing it with water and burying the coals.  Gaara stood and adjusted the gourd on his back, moving it to the side.

While we were eating he had made it clear he would carry me most of the time i slept stopping only for a couple hours of sleep himself.  Soon, i was hoisted onto his back, my left leg wedged comfortably between him and the gourd, and we were off.

A few minutes later i fell asleep to the quiet "tak, tak" sound of his footsteps.
